Elinor – a huge continent, situated in the middle of a boundless ocean. The nature of this world is rich and diverse – hight mountains, deep forests, endless prairies, severe snows of the North and arid deserts of the South. Eight nations, originated from the Valley of the Ancestors, created their own governments in different parts of the continent: wise Djunits, reckless Guawars, fearless Itoshins, enlightened Ulutau, discreet Vedichs, mighty Taurs, inventive Tausmatus, careless Chekatta.
The Valley of the Ancestors, situated in the heart of the continent, is a cradle of civilization. The trading, cultural and historical center of the continent, where the paths of the eight Elinor nations come together. The mild climate, extensive trade and innovative ideas of Elinors’ most outstanding thinkers – all this is what made the Great Cities of the Valley increasingly more powerful and prosperous. But in the year 530 of the Third Era, the unconceivable happened… The valley became deserted! One day its population simply disappeared without a trace. The rulers of all the Elinor nations began to assemble convoys of warriors, sages, traders and settlers to re-fill the Great Cities with life and find out what had actually happened in the Valley of the Ancestors. These very events are the beginning of the first book of “Elinor” series – “The Deserted Valley”.
From two to six people can take part in the game. Each player has his own color of the basements, where the tokens are put. There are two possible variations of the game, and the playing field can be used for both of them. The first one is simplified and will be appreciated by the chess admirers and by people with developed tactical thinking. Every player picks 6 units from the eight peoples of Elinor at random. The main aim of every player is to beat all the opponents’ tokens and to lead his warriors to victory.

The second variant of the game is a board turn-based strategy in the best spirit of Civilization and Heroes of Might and Magic. You can control one of 8 unique peoples each of which has its peculiar abilities, skills and buildings. Develop the economics, build forts, hire new warriors for your army, become the mightiest master of the Valley of Ancestors.
A brief description of the playing field and the tokens Every token has three main characteristics: attack, vitality and speed. Moreover, some of them have special abilities, based on the peculiar traits of each nation.
So! Every nation has its strengths and weaknesses, that is why randomly chosen tokens make a game interesting and unpredictable. Nevertheless, let’s move to the extended version!

This game did not appear in an instant. The idea of it came to Mikhail’s mind several years ago! Step by step it improved. Best creative team members took part in upgrading and polishing the game. It was tested numerous times, first, among camp Elinor participants and team and later on major game festivals and online. Now we can safely say that it’s hard to stop playing.

The book and the game story both originate from an unusual kids’ Fantasy camp Elinor, created and owned by Mikhail Shelkov. This camp is the first and only permanently working camp of such kind in Russia. Here you can plunge into mysterious world of adventures. Kids can become knights, wizards, craftsmen, or other heroes of ancient fairy tales.
